Specialist Physician and Consultant Nephrologist Dr Dhammika Gunasekara has extensive experience in the treatment and management of diabetes, hypocholesteremia, thyroid disorders and non-surgical weight management in Obese patients.
His special interests in Nephrology include glomerular and tubular-interstitial disorders, resistant hypertension, diabetic nephropathy and renal tubular disorders.
Dr Gunasekara was a graduate of the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 1994. He obtained his Doctorate in Medicine in 2002 from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and became a Fellow of The Ceylon College of Physicians in 2010.
He became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2009 in Nephrology. Since then he has been working as a specialist Physician at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Peel Health Campus and St John of God Murdoch Hospital.
